DESCRIPTION:
Group of islands and a national park (since 1983) in front of the western coast of Istria; located 6 km from Pula; The coasts of the islands are well indented; the total length of the indented coast is 37.8 km. The surface of the islands is fairly levelled The vegetation of the islands is extremely rich - Mediterranean: Brijuni Islands are of great maritime importance.
Beautiful excursion begins with a short trip by boat, from Fažana to the Veliki Brijun Island. Accompanied by tourist guides we start sightseeing of the island's natural beauties (olive tree IV A.D., pine ally from 1905.) by tourist train, Safari park and cultural heritage (Byzantine Castrum, inhabited from the II century B.C. to the XIV A.D., a Roman
country residence situated in the Verige Bay, dating from I century A.D.), a natural-science collection and
foto exibition "Tito on Brijuni", Church of St.Germaine-XV century with an exibition of murals and Istrian and Kvarner Glagolitic writings, Archeological museum.
