POSITION- TEMPERATURES

Pula is located on the south western coastline of Istria.
LATITUDE:44ş52´ (North)-LONGITUDE 13ş51´(East)
Is known for its Mediterranean climate, warm summers and mild winters.
Even in January which is coldest month, the mean air temperature is 6,2şC,while in the warmest month of July, the mean temperature is 23,4şC.
Average annual temperature is 13şC
The sea temperature in January drops to 10şC and rises as high as 25şC in August.
Pula has average of only 2 completely cloudy days in July and as many as 14 sunny days.
It has 2.311 hours of sunshine annually and therefore has a perfect climate for outdoor and indoor sports activities.

The estimated of 30 km. of uneven coastline is, by international standards, considered fit for swimming and other recreational activities, while Pula costs are among the cleanest in the Adriatic.
With its woods and luxuriant vegetation, according to environment studies Pula fully satisfies the requisites of a tourist locality.

LOWER KAMENJAK -protected landscape

South Istria is characterised by a greatly indented and long coastline.
Because of its location that areas much more pronounced features of Mediterranean climate than the surrounding region.
Naturally this is reflected in its flora and vegetation.
The latest research speaks of the uniqueness of plant life in this area.
Nearly 500 plant species on such a small space are proof of the biological diversity.
This very specific and valuable landscape of Kamenjak is created by a combination of meadows, bushes and macchia.

On the meadows of Kamenjak one finds numerous species of orchids, among which is the endemic Istrian serapias(Serapia istriaca).
The coastal belt is the only habitat of several rare plant species in Croatia.
Owing to the science beauty and remarkable features of its plant life, lower Kamenjak has been protected by law since 1996, and is about to be proclaimed a botanical reserve.
Lovely coves and beaches, as well as crystal-clear sea make this area a particularly attractive destination.
